How can you compare Microsoft and Linux? I guess you should compare Microsoft Windows and Linux... Anyways, most people will vote for Windows because its completely user friendly and you almost don't need to have any knowledge to use it, while you need to learn to use linux and its more complicated. Far more secure too.
Uh, no. Linux was created by a, then, hobbyist on a bulletin board for himself and his friends. He gave it to anyone who wanted it for free. That's why it's free. Not for marketing reasons.
I use Linux (Debian KDE), and I am unhappy with LibreOffice. Editing copy (usually MSWord created) in LibreOffice is a tightrope walk. One slip and the formatting is ruined.I need office software for work, I am not a programmer or artist, and it really is a delight to use Microsoft Word. It's as efficient as any simple text editor! In Linux, I often use the text editor instead of Libre Writer for making notes, so that I have a clean document in the end. Libre Writer just doesn't cut it.However, I don't think we will see a 'Microsoft Office for Linux' any time soon. There would be no reason to buy Windows if Office were made available for Linux. For everyday desktop use, Linux alternatives are as good as Windows offerings--except for office software.
I have another computer with the Linux system involved, tried using it, well I just failed. For my everyday uses, MS is definitely the best.
I think they are both good. I would have said Microsoft, but then Android came along which is run on Linux, as I understand it. So I think they are equal, because of Android.
