This is just testing the water , I have been looking for someone to design a VB board for me but cant seem to find anyone then found this section , and thought Hmm maybe I could start a competition. SO basically Im here to ask who would be interested and would I be able to spark some interest with a $350 prize to the winner ? What would I need to state and whats the best way to run the promotion ? All and any tips on running this from previous comp runners and from designers would be very helpful to make this a success for everyone . P.s payment would be via paypal is that standard ? Please note : This is not a competition yet , Im just finding out if anyone is interested over the next few days I will put something together if I find the interest. I'd be very interested, but you have to understand, for $350 I'd be willing to put in an extreme amount of time, effort and work into doing a skin for you. As such, I would not be willing to put in that amount of effort in a competition, just for a chance of winning. Maybe you can browse my past work on this site, and I have a website I'll be unveiling soon which is a totally customised Wordpress blog. Paypal is standard. Also, avoid people who PM you and offer at half the price. It's a scam, and the quality of their work will not be original. It will be a copy of somebody elses and it's hard to make this decision with these kinds of people around. Keep it public, let people know exactly what you want and maybe ask people to submit mini-portfolios of their design work, ask about their contacts. Generally a coder can code, a designer can design... usually not both at a high standard. Personally, I can design and code xHTML/CSS with a little PHP and MySQL. I have created fully unique websites, design and code. But I don't enjoy creating code from scratch like that. I prefer to edit and out-source any major code work. Good luck finding someone.
Same here, I'd rather not spend time on a contest for a skin, that I MIGHT get paid for. I'd rather want to create a skin for a forum, where I KNOW they will buy it and want it.
ok well just as well i tested the water then . As it would seem a contest isnt the way to go here. I am in need of someone who can create and apply the design to the site ? Is this standard or normally done in 2 stages, ie i pay someone else to set it up ? Sorry but I dont know much about this whole concept really works, thats why im here . Also if your interested in this job could you show me some of your work , I am looking for a very professional job and would like to see what you can do . Cheers
