Who's had success with online dating?

I recently signed up with eHarmony and have met some cool women. Problem is that my favorite one is in Russia ;/

Yeah my cousin is a loser and he regularly bangs chicks from online. He has no game and has sex with some decent looking chicks. Sometimes he pulls fat and ugly ones too though. It’s kind of sad though that he rarely gets a repeat customer though.

 

Personally I have never gone looking for an online romance, but having been part of an online community for a long time I find that you meet people there that you build up an attraction for. We have even had two users meet and marry from our group, so thats quite an achievement.

 

Success is definied how? Getting laid or going somewhere longterm?

Online dating works when the people are local. But the key is to get talking by voice as fast as possible. Voice communications tell way more about a person than text. I also recommend learning alot about the person on phone before you meet. Once you meet, chemistry and other issues can alter your evaluative skills. On the phone you won't have that problem. Why waste time meeting someone who half an hour of phone chat would have revealed as not a match.

 

I have never tried it but my aunt met her fiance about a year and a half ago via an online dating site. He is a great guy and they are a great match. She is 44, has had 2 divorces and other relationships- I must say this is the best guy she has ever been with
(so I definately think it works)
You can't always find your match in the places that you go- Sometimes you just need a little help to meet the right person
As with any online dating, chatting or blind dates, you need to take extra precautions when you first meet that person

 

All the time. Online dating is the way to go in this world. Just be direct, not needy, confident, and you'll find someone. Don't bend over backwards for some girl online. Send her an interesting (and polite) e-mail and not some crap about "How are you today?". Find something in her pictures or profile that you generally like and make a comment about that, especially in the subject line. She'll probably respond as all the other guys (and there are many) are idiots.
