For a few years now Amazon UK had a £7 commission cap per item. This made it quite difficult to promote certain products (e.g. anything priced above £120) while still making profit. On March 1st 2015 they are removing this cap along with a lot of other great changes to Amazon UK and the other EU sites (Germany, Italy, Spain etc.) I all the changes and included my recommendations. What's commission cap? No matter the price of the item, you get only $7? Also I think 1% is too low. Say price of Tv is $1000 and your commission is $10 I have Amazon US and I guess the commission rate is 4% - 8% increasing according to the number of sales.
Yes the commission cap was £7, so that was the maximum you could earn per item. That has now been removed. There are different commission rates depending on what category the product is in. All details are on this link: http://blog.freshstorebuilder.com/amazon-co-uk-and-eu-commission-cap-removed
