Last October I launched at site that didn't show up until March for even a three word term. It is low on that term, hovering around 70. My domain is an exact match for that three word term; something like "blue widget world" = bluewidgetworld.com. Now using the provided link it shows me at the top of the results where I believe it belongs. The content matches the domain and the domain is an EXACT match for the term.

Should we be using this tool for our SERPS testing, if we concentate on being number 1 on this then when the time comes we will all be happy! and in the meantime we wont be pulling our hair out wondering why we are listed so bad!
My site doesn’t come up in google for my keywords at all, but in msn I am 1st and yahoo in the top 10, with this tool I am in 5th place on google, my site started in november and I wonder if I am still classed as a new site. (I already have PR).

Another thing I am not listed in DMOZ and as google directory uses DMOZ, I am convinced that I get penalized for it. I am never going to get listed in DMOZ they hate me! The authors are in the same industry and wont accept my site!

Would be interesting to hear how many of you are in DMOZ and how differently you rank because of this in this google tool.

I do not know what this tool do or not, but it is in fact quite interesting.

I tried the following phrase in regular search:

search engine optimization - my site not in the first 100 pages
"search engine optimization" - my site not in the first 100 pages

Then I just the possibility without filters:

search engine optimization - my site on page 19
"search engine optimization" - my site on page 9

But, one thing that I noticed with the "Whithout filters" thing, it looks
like it only list a site once.
Like yourdomain.com or yourdomain.con/somepage and not like with an
ordinary search, You could have different rankings for different pages.

Would anybody else take the time to check this, just to see if that is corect ?

    An observation...
27% of the visitors to my home page are using a keyword combination that I don't rank very highly for (#7). I'm #1 with the "filters" off. I've always wondered how they were finding me. I find it highly unlikely that 27% of my visitors are coming from a #7 KW. At times, that combination has exceeded 40%. Sounds to me like in certain cases, Google periodically removes the filter.

    Who knows

I tried the tool on several keywords... with varying results. I have to say I think the notion of this tool somehow disabling filters is pretty far-fetched.

As some folks have pointed out, if you search for different terms (even if they're a bunch of supposedly-ignored words), you're going to get different results. The "without filter" mode on this tool also duplicates your primary search terms, so the queries themselves are definitely different, with or without the small/ignored words. What this tool shows you is apples & oranges.

Even if this tool reliably revealed something, I think the criteria Google uses to run a query (or Yahoo or MSN for that matter) is too complex and too volatile to "reverse engineer" what this actually tells you about SEO.

Just tried a search for keywords on a page on my fairly new site - normal search position 243 - without filters 103 - still quite a bit of work to do!

    Interesting though!

Am on #4 position for my keyword (with 68,600,000 results returned) when I searched "without filter(s)"

So it means there is something I need to consider to remove this filter or maybe I am sandboxed

well without the filter i am number 86 for my target term and with i am number 2. So obviously i need to find out what penalty i have.

The site in question is a forum, and i have let someone else run it for the past 6 months, and i checked yesterday and there is a broken link in the header, i am pretty sure it has been broken for 5+ months.

Thus i imagine i am being penalized for this, as my site is 15 months old, i doubt it is the sandbox.

So now that i have fixed the broken link, how long do you think it will take for google to forgive me? few days, few weeks? never?
