I have a 2 years old account in Paypal. Because of horrid service, I am planning to change my internet service provider from BSNL to Airtel. This means a change of my IP. Whom should I contact in Paypal for help in this regard? Thanks a lot in advance.

Hey bro, one of my friends tried doing so and, next thing, his account got limited. He received the usual letter like `we suspect there is some illegal activity' etc. After lots of emails and phone talks, his account was locked permanently. :/

Thanks again to both of you for your replies. Here is a part of the exact message that my friend received through email after he changed his service provider and tried to log into his Paypal account.

"Our system detected an unusual use of funds from a bank account linked to your PayPal account."

After exchanging mails with them for more than a month and then even talking to them, his account was closed permanently. What is strange is that he keeps on receiving notifications from Paypal periodically.

Our account has also been Locked for Security reason. And most probably thats because of IP changes. 1st of all we were using it from different country and broad band service we were using changes IP everytime router restarts so this has got our account locked and they need credit card no. We dont have that no. available for now. Can some one please help how to get out of this and any emails and phone numbers of paypal will help.

    Thanks

The changes in IP every time the router restarts is not a problem. It happens since your broadband service provider is providing you with a dynamic IP. Your account has been locked because your IP shows that you are from a different country than what you stated. Check the `sticky' section of this forum and you will find all the phone numbers of paypal over there. :)

How is that pertaining to the Paypal member's IP ?

Probably your friend is not telling the entire story. It sounds more like there was some unusually large payments made or to some suspicious receipient/geographic location or something like that and they locked it as a security measure. It must be just a coincidence it happened when he changed the ISP.
