Wholesaling

Hello all. I'm not asking for any contacts or sources but I was just wondering if anyone had any good resources for general wholesaling information. I'm still debating what industry I would like to go into and I haven't found any great resources for information or forums. I'm considering the DVD market and eventually the HD-DVD/Bluray market, whichever one takes off but I need more information. Thanks again. On a secondary note, if anyone here has had success with wholesaling, I would like to chat.

I've worked with suppliers from alibaba and have had everything work out. Just be careful, ask for references, and use escrow if possible.

If your just starting out you might have problems meeting the minimum quantity but most suppliers are negotiable. Install trade manager (instant messenger) to speed the process along, and of course don't use Western Union.

    No, not yet...
I've contacted hundreds of "companies" through that site.
    I've 100% scam so far.
They, all and everyone of them, want western union to Vietnam, with a UK email and a chinese website template but the guy is in Indonesia with a malaysian phone #, kind of stuff...
The US "companies" have an address which is not on Google and Yahoo maps..
Well, to make it short, stay away...

Often you'll find legitamate UK/US suppliers at alibaba, but they'll be middlemen, so if their lazy the'll often use the same descriptions of the actual wholesaler/manufacturer. Google their descriptions and you might find the actual supplier.

Then find out if they take anything but western union. If they don't, say your keen to buy a lot, but your wary of getting screwed, so do a test order first.

There is a lot of scamming in the wholesale industry, so legitamate suppliers will work with you to ease your concerns.
