Hi, I am associated with an organization and this has a three letter abbreviation 'wanted to check the domain for availability (I know all(most?)) all 3-L are regged AFAIK), it's registered, but the company seems out of business. The Whois-email address is not valid. My Question: How are the chances I can get the domain because of invalid Whois-details or on the argument that they're not using it, maybe the company doesn't even exist anymore? Best Wishes
email address is invalid that doesn't mean whois inaccurate. u can report to registry and they will tell him/her to update contact details. and abt question don't act like kid. you are attempting for reverse domain hijacking. later u will be sued badly and hopefully .
How do you know that the email address is invalid? Is the domain part after the @ not a registered domain? If the registrar does discover that a contact email address is invalid they may possibly cancel the registration and put it back in the pool for anyone to register- but they won't give you first dibs just because you found the error.
