I want to create a site where I can put in a domain and get information, like http://www.smartpagerank.com I need information on how to get WhoIs info (mostly date registered) and PageRank. I am going to do it .NET, but I really just need information on how to obtain this information. Anything you can tell me would help.
For Whois, you need to connect to the whois server(s) (i.e. internic for .com, .net, .org, etc.). For PageRank, you will have to code a Google algorithm into .NET. You can find some on the net, but you will probably need to convert it to your language. Note, its amazingly difficult to fetch pageranks if you can't generate the checksums. Jay
