    Brazil or England...

To be honest, anything can happen, noone expected Greece to win Euro 2004. I would love to see Brazil v England in final. Did anyone see the Jamaica game on Saturday? 6-0 England hehe, how's that for a confidence boost. Jamaica's kit looked a lot like Brazil's aswell.

I think Ronaldinho has a lot of hype, he didn't play amazing in the Champions League, but that might be because of the man marking :) Beckham is also very hyped, I never really rated him that much until recently, all of his free kicks have been pin point accurate.

Ok…..let’s stop right here…. Why do people on this planet think England will win? Do you people know something that the rest of us don’t??? England hasn’t beaten Portugal in a Tournament for decades!!! I think that everyone saying England should have to give an explanation on why they think England will win…the earth will turn into chocolate peppermint ice-cream before they even get near to winning a world cup. ;)

Firstly England have won the world cup before so i guess the earth is an ice cream already...
Then maybe people are saying England because on paper England have the best squad in the world cup, it doesnt take a genius to look at it and see how good it is. Englands players are all playing for world class teams, most playing in the premiership which is the best and hardest league in the world. Frank lampard rated 2nd best footballer of the year. Wayne Rooney one of the top strikers in the world. David Beckham still a world class player with great accuracy and very experienced. Our defence is amazing, Ashley Cole, Rio Ferdinand, John Terry etc. Midfield is the most solid in the whole of the world cup, Steven Gerrard, Joe Cole, Frank Lampard, David Beckham name me a midfield better then that this year?
Now explain why Portugal have any chance? And dont say Figo hes crap.

I have mentioned something like this before but only TOPS responded in a positive way if i recall correctly. There wasn't a lot of enthusiasm on this.

And only two or three participants isn't really that exiting i think.
I think before each game a individual post can be made where members can post their prediction for the game.
And someone like Crazy-Rob can collect the funds for the bets and pass the winnings of the winning bet to the winner.

Minus a fee for the good cause of course ;)
If there are multiple winners the pot will be divided equally of course.
I think some extra things need to be considdered though but if there isn't enough animo for this then why even start right? ;)

    Goalkeepers:
    Quim (Benfica)
    Ricardo (Sporting )
    Bruno Vale (Estrela da Amadora)

    Defenders:
Caneira (Sporting ) Ricardo Carvalho (Chelsea)
    Ricardo Costa (FC Porto)
    Paulo Ferreira (Chelsea)
    Fernando Meira (VfB Stuttgart)
    Miguel (Valencia)
    Nuno Valente (Everton)

    Midfielders:
    Boa Morte (Fulham)
    Costinha (No team)
    Deco (FC Barcelona)
    Figo ( Team Captain)
    Maniche (Chelsea)
    Petit (Benfica)
    Cristiano Ronaldo (Manchester United)
    Simão (Benfica)
    Tiago (Olympique de Lyon)
    Hugo Viana (Valencia)

    Forwards:
    Nuno Gomes (Benfica)
    Pauleta (Paris Saint Germain)
    Hélder Postiga (Saint-Etienne)

Hey… that’s funny look how many of them play for the English league champions Chelsea, and their Portuguese coach. Wait a minute only 6 players play for Portuguese teams all the rest play for the top clubs in the world. Still England is ranked 10th and Portugal 6th, that to me says everything.
