Who will win FIFA World Cup next: US or England?

Its the clubs not country that pay these guys wages and they have a big input and woudln't want players going all out in a friendly. There are problems over this all the time.
Second a friendly is a friendly, although they will want to win its impossible to get as pumped up for a friendly vs a real game, unless of course it was something like America vs Cuba.
Although America as underdogs vs Brazil im sure gave it there all, like underdogs always do.

These are athletes at the most competitive level of a world major sport playing a country that has that sport as its most popular girls sport but for males it is nowhere near the big four sports and is struggling to get to the level of the secondary sports like golf and tennis.

The US squad certainly took the game seriously and the Brazilian squad was not slacking. Do you think Brazil saw losing to the US in a game to decide the champions of the Americas?

there is england, scotland, wales, northern ireleand, ireland.

there all sepeate countrys, there is no need for a uk team, England are on of the best teams in the world why the hell would they need players from scotland haha

Honestly maybe in time you will understand how football is played, but they would not risk trying to prove something so pointless as that. Do you think these players clubs give a damn about whether in America only girls play football? Cmon get real.

 

I didn't see the game to be honest. Sure, there is pride on the line, but there's also million dollar contracts.

BTW, England is a country, England is part of Europe, England is an ally of the US, England is one of the best teams in the world. Please use a singular verb with a singular noun. If you want to say are, say England's players are.

 

On another note England have beaten Russia 3-0 and as much as i hate Scotland, i hate France more so well done for beating them 1-0 .

 

I know how sports are played and you know well that Americans are rapidly improving, in fact tell me if you know, how many Americans are starting in goal in the EPL? I believe 15% of the starting keepers are American!

The point relating to the girls is that soccer is still well down the sports food chain here. There are many options so the importance of the game on a professional level is much lower than in Brazil. In Brazil, soccer is king and the number two sport is ....uhhh...I guess futsol. Nobody on the Brazilian team would allow a loss, especially not a country that embraces soccer as it's ..maybe number 8 male sport.

 

I've heard about those million (250 with endorsements) dollar contracts that players receive while nursing injuries from a national team game. What was that Spice Girl's husband's name?

Exactly, he picked up that injury from playing for England whilst being paid by Galaxy and they are mad about that, and don't want him to play so much for England now. Thats my point with the Brazil match.

 

What do hate about Scotland? You should be kind to them after all the invading and pillaging England has done or attempted to do in the past.

Italy and Italy for along time

 

The question was who will win first England or US. We know about the Italian diving team.....ooops....the Italian team as well as the usual favorites, France, Germany, Brazil, Argentina, and Gambia. The question wasn't about other teams just England and the US.

 

But friendlies ARE taken seriously. Look at the fuss when England lost to Australia under Sven. He used it as a practise match to test out various players/formations. He was then told that there is no such thing as a 'friendly' as far as England are concerned, we have to win every match - especially against Australia who usually beat us at cricket, rugby league, rugby union and hockey. Football was the one thing we had left.

 

Bloody hell we're related! My great grandmother was Esmee MacGregor, a direct descendant of Rob Roy. Plus my maternal grandfather was also Irish.

And the whole England/Scotland thing is obviously a different subject. Basically they hate us and we don't give a toss about them (which annoys them even more). A patriotic Scotsman supports two teams: Scotland and whoever's playing England. If we played a match against Al Queda everybody in Scotland would be wearing Osama Bin Laden masks.

Still it WAS a good result for them last night and well done

 

Some where back a Gregor girl married a Barr boy. My wife (thinks she's funny) leaned over to me during the movie Rob Roy movie after Archibald raped Mary and said "Maybe you are a decedent of him." Not funny but the one time I attempt fencing, I was wicked.

OK, Scotland is to England as Canada is to the US. They send us good ice hockey players and talk about how great everything (well beer and cigarettes) taste better. I've taunted them saying maybe some day they could be a state or part of Alaska.

 

I just saw the highlights of Scotland over France. Maybe my mistake on the poll having UK as a choice instead of England was prophetic. Maybe the next final match will be an epic battle between Scotland and Wales?

 

England and Scotland is more of a hate thing, they would like nothing better than kicking our heads in.

Well they are trying their hardest to leave the UK so no.

Yeah but do you honestly give a monkeys about their results? I don't care if they win lose or draw - same goes for Wales and however many Irelands there are. The difference is that we can say "Yeah, that was a good result for Scotland, fair play to them" whereas they would never say that about us. For us the big 'rivalry' games are against Germany and Argentina.
