i'm not wearing contact lenses because i'm more comfort with my glasses. Even, i look nerd but it much better then get infection because of long term use of contact lenses. (Actually, im more good looking with glasses).

I've been wearing contacts every day for the past nine years. I started with a pair of rigid gas permeable lenses until an ex-girlfriend threw garlic in my eyes and then stood on one of the lenses - a few hours before I was due to fly to Australia for a month.

After the panic of finding an optician who could set me up with some lenses in a couple of hours I started wearing Easyvision daily disposable lenses. When an irate ex wants to get her revenge on me by destroying a pair I can just put another pair in :D

After getting used to contacts you can never go back to glasses. I keep a pair around the house for those days when I've been working 36 hours and my eyes feel like hard boiled eggs, but I hate the fact that there's a blurry patch around my vision when I look over the lenses. With contacts I an almost forget that I'm shortsighted.

I've been in contacts since 1983... Acuvue daily disposables.

Guess what tho? "Daily" wear lenses are NO different than extended-wear. If you care for them properly, they'll last a month or more.

Take them out at night though. No need to see in the dark, and it's a good rest for your eyes.

Little-known fact that the contact lens manufacturers don't want you to know...

I'm horribly myopic, I wear a -11 prescription, so glasses are a no-go (too thick).

I've often suspected that. I get a delivery of Specsavers Easyvision dailies every 3 months, but a couple of weeks ago I almost ran out with three weeks until the next delivery so I bought a pair of 1-month Freshlook Colorblends to bridge the gap. The 1-month lenses feel even flimsier than my dailies.

When I first started wearing dailies back in 2002 I used to wear each pair a few days each with no problems. Still, since I'm not really bothered about paying a monthly fee for my dailies I can't be bothered to take them out and store them every night. You can't beat the convenience of just taking them out and chucking them every night :)

I do wear contact lenses. I have been wearing them for about 4 years, and it first it there were such a pain to get in my eye, but now after much practice I can put them in and out very easily. I use the monthly ones which work great. :D

I've worn glasses since < = 1991 but I was too much of a puss to try contacts until 2/14/02.

When I first got the contacts, (30 day soft) my vision was -1.75 (L), -1.5 (R) but it has since shifted to both being -1.75 in both eyes.

Since I do not wear them every day (usually only the days I play racquetball, MWF 7-8am; and when I mow the lawn) I can get many more days out of them than the spec'd 30 days. That's probably not a good thing for my eyes?
