Yes, but you'll probably get shut down for piracy It's a paid product, you can not get it for free unless someone gives it to you...and at the price, I'm unsure if that will happen.
VBseo is not really recommended by the owners of vbulletin as it causes so much work for them to do as alot of users normally can't install it and mess up their forums. I am using vbseo on affiliateseeking.com/forums . I didn't think twice about purchasing it and this is my first forums. I could have done the rewrites myself, but then whats the price of just under $200 when it would take me a day or 2 which I could have spent elsewhere doing other things. What VBseo can do is much more than what I could have done in 2 days anyway. OK there is other mod rewrite's out there that you can get for free at vbulletin and other people do prefer them just because they are free, but if you go for free, then that's not always the best way. I have had experience with phpBB which I wasted my time working on. So how I see it is VBseo is hopefully going to do wonders on my forums.
Nonsense. I have Zoints SEO installed. I am NOT using mod_rewrite. I'm using it for some of its other features. Most of which can be easily done with free add-ons and the rest of which don't do a damn thing that really matters for vBukletin SEO. And here is another thread on vBSEOI that should be read, this one by vBulletin team members: http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/showthread.php?t=162960 Especially note this part from a vBulletin team member: http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/showpost.php?p=1327309&postcount=48 What updating templates? The important ones are imported products. No manual template editing required. Alexa stats? Please tell me you didn't mean that seriously...
Thought I'd chime in, I have looked into zoints and you are right Minstrel it does do almost everything but you have to understand time is money. Some of us have more money than time and skill. By that I mean it would take me forever to figure out how to install zoints and bug proof it so why not just spend 150 and get it done with tech support. I see your argument and trust you see the flip side of the coin. If vBSEO was alot cheaper these conversations wouldn't be taking place I reckon.
I suspect David might not have included Economics as one of his electives! David - by any chance - did you: build your own house, build your car up from spare parts, sew all your own clothes by hand? Just kidding with you.
What has any of that to do with your incessant self-promotion, outdated views of SEO, and outrageous claims for vBSEO?
Since that thread is closed: That's true. There are others. The reason I use this one is it was the first one I found, not because I think it's better than the others. It also integrates just fine with Zoints SEO. It also works fine as a standalone and does not require vBSEO or any other SEO package to run. And in case it isn't already apparent, vBSEO is definitely NOT recommended by me.
I just finished reading two updated threads at vBulletin.org about add-ons that I currently use with posts from vBSEO users stating, "This add-on does not work with vBSEO. How do I fix it?". That's not an isolated incident. Browse the add-ons section there yourself and you'll find many. Then ask yourself, "Why does vBSEO conflict with so many vBulletin add-ons?". Then go back to the thread where vBulletin Team Members make this and similar comments: Then ask yourself this question: Why does a $150 USD (plus annual renewals) package have such difficulty coexisting with the rest of the vBulletin software and add-on community?
Is this how you choose all of your plugins/strategies for your site? Whichever you discover first? Kidding.
No. It works. It does what I want it to do. I'm not criticizing your sitemap add-on... it works as advertised. I'm merely saying that I haven't tried the others. Therefore, your comment that I'm using it should not be taken as any sort of statement by me that it's better than the rest.
