I use Joomla. Started using it around 6 or 7 months ago but have recently done a serious implementation.

I am working hard on some SEO tutorials for Joomla etc.

For instance, many people don't realize the power of using section and category lists instead of the usual blog format.

i have been sick for a week in the hospital so I hope to get back running here soon.

I've been using Joomla for about a year now and love it. Some of the extensions that you can download are great. It was kinda a big learning curve trying to understand how to organize stories with the sections and categories, but once you figure it out, becomes so easy!

I have been finding a lot of tricks with the section and catgories parameters and getting great results. Now that I am feeling better I am going to try to work on my Joomla webmasters site.

I've been using Joomla for about 1 year now. Loving it, have about 20 sites that are running it (working on some social networking types now using it) :)

I was using drupal before but my web hosting company complained about server loads. I moved to joomla and have not had a problem since.

I have to agree with you, Mambo/Joomla is a sloppy mess. I moved over to Drupal and haven't looked back.

I use Joomla for both of my sites. Thanks to Joomla I got involved into the webmasters world and even more - making some money of it. Respect for Joomla coders.

I know that there were couple of turkish guys attacking Joomla based sites, but I think the question is not how secure is Joomla, but how secured is your server? If all server settings are secured then you should not worry about your site security. Also there are a lot of third-party extensions which can be unsecured, who knows. So I guess your question don't have exact answer.

Joomla is basically a continuation of Mambo, and it is known for its security flaws. Not sure how fixed it is. Also I wouldn't judge your site by Turkish hackers, because they can hack basically anything.

However, speed-wise, I have seen many researches on Joomla, and I found out this basic rule:
Joomla is better than Drupal when using no caching.
Drupal is much much much better than Joomla with the amazing cache features of Drupal.

Hence why I use drupal myself at times. You can optimize it a lot to the point that it makes Joomla cry.

Drupal is almost too flexible though if you don't need it. I mean to make a brochure type normal website you really need to edit the template, remove tags, use views with custom urls....heck you might just start from scratch

the cool thing about the 1.0 series in joomla is that you can mess around with it alot.

drupal is cool if you want multi user blogging or acl control

joomla is great for pure CMS
