    Hey everyone,

Anywhere in here currently using adlogger or have tried it before? If so how effective is it, does it work accurately? Is there any disadvantages on using it? Also is it OK per Google TOS to use such program?

I wanted to use this on my sites just to be on the safe side, I havent experience any click attacks or anything but im not really going to wait until that happen and then get banned by google.

Anyway let me know your experiences and opinions about adlogger.

    Thanks

One vote for me. It's a great tool - helps quite a lote, and you can have alerts for spamclickers etc. If you use Adsense, you should also use AdLogger.

    A) It is not terribly effective if you're trying to count clicks via it. It counts a "click" only by detecting a javascript "mouseOver" effect on the ad, thus the user could mouse over without clicking, still resulting in Adlogger recording a click. Otherwise, it serves as a helpful, behind-the-scenes local monitoring program to record IP's and site activity, and block users from "mousingOver" the ads too much.

    B) My inquiries to google have mentioned such a program (though not by name) and have never had any ill response from them regarding it.

    C) As far as I can see, it adheres to the TOS, since it doesn't alter the adsense code in any way at all.

    This is not strictly true.
The correct position is that "The only thing the ad tracking script does is constantly looking for the event when a mouse is on an ad and if the page is unloaded. If that happens, a click will be registered." It then gets the url from the browser (except firefox).

    See http://www.adlogger.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=158

One good thing I like about adlogger is that you can block ads showing for visitors from certain IPs.
The best thing I like about adlogger is that you can see the urls you your visitors click through to. From there you can hazard a guess as to whether they are likely to buy something or can fulfill the purpose of the ad. I think you can reduce smart pricing this way. When you use in in conjuction with a tracker like statcounter you can see very clearly detailed info about your visitors.
e.g. if 90% of your visitors are from the Uk you can see which ads they are clicking and see if they are relevant (to avoid smart pricing). If the ad is a spammy MFA, or about a bookshop in timbuktuu you can then block the url, that way with time you get really relevant ads for your visitors and smartpricing will be less likely to happen.

    :) Adlogger rocks!

sounds useful being able to see who clicks what as a way of ditching the less useful sites....

I've not tried adlogger yet so can anyone tell me if it (or any other similar tool) lets you see which clicks are worth what $?

I use to know what referers make more money with adsense, then I improve the site/publishing strategy to make more and more.

Adlogger is alright from what I can tell. It gives me really wild results at times. For example, yesterday my google adsense account showed 10 more clicks than adlogger showed and sometimes adlogger shows 10 more clicks than my google adsense account shows.

I really only use it to monitor what type of ads are being clicked and the IP of the clicker.

Is adlogger an useless tool. Since it counts mouseovers as clicks, what is the point of it?

I use adlogger but not for tracking purposes. I really use it for it's capability to block certain IP's and to restrict people from making multiple clicks. I have it set to disable the ads for the IP address if they have clicked 3 ads in 48 hours or something.

Thanks for all the replies guys...

I also wanted to use adlogger to prevent myself from click frauds and click attacks etc. like I said just to be safe.

Seems like everyone's happy with adlogger, no big issues or anything so I will give it a try and see how it goes.

    Thanks everyone!
