Who Took Advantage Of April Fools?

A bunch of big bloggers and websites had April Fools jokes that got plenty of publicity - did you do anything like this on your website? Is April Fools a good day for traffic?

I whipped up a short post at the last second but I think I could've done a lot more with it. Only got about 500 pageviews from it.

That's a brilliant idea but unfortunately I did not take advantage of it.

Last chance for me to plug our annual Holy Fool's day prank-see my recent blog post above.

Also got a rise out of some folks on DP with this thread.

About double the normal traffic, and a bunch of new links, but mostly it's just fun.

I wish I had thought of it. I have been hearing about different sales tricks people did from various forums. Next year I will definetely do something.

I took advantage of it. At about 5pm the day before I realized that it was April Fools the next day, so in about an hour I put together an email containing April Fools pranks, and did an adwords campaign on "April Fools day pranks", and "April Fools day jokes". I was the only advertiser, so I got about 500 clicks for $40. I don't yet know what I'll do with the list to make money from it, but I think I can think of something.

Some people might consider it kind of foolish, but it was only $40, and it was an experiment to see if it was possible to make money off such a thing. I've already got a plan on how to make some money off of it, but I guess we'll see how I do.
