I am working on a project that will help to improve communications in the workplace. I am wondering the best way to market this? Do I go to the management of companies with this idea, and sell it to them, or do I target the "shop floor" workers? If I target the management do I offer this service for free and rely on adsense etc.. or do I charge them for it? This will involve a website, so I will be using PPC ads, so is it wise to go to management with this, or the "shop floor" workers. In my experience I have found that those on the "shop floor" tend not to get involved if they know management have a hand in certain issues. I have also found that management will not get involved if it looks like a bit of a rebellion site set up by the "shop floor" workers. Your opinions are appreciated.
You clearly need to target management. They have, or control more money, hence you can charge a higher price for your information. Also, in my past experience with employees, they could care less about something like "poor communication" in the workplace. "Not my problem" is the general consensus from shop floor workers.
Definitely management. They will be the ones making this kind of decision. I'm not so sure adSense is them most effective way to market this though. I think you could have a lot of success at something like this using email newsletters that are already targeting managers.
Thanks for the advice. I will target the managers of large businesses with this, but do I contact them directly, phoning them, arranging face to face meetings to try and sell them this idea? Or do I promote the website as much as I can, and hope that they will contact me? I have been told that I have a "very saleable product" so I could charge businesses for this service, and I could use adsense on the website also. Would this be wise, or just go with one or the other?
