Hello everyone. I have a little question I was hoping to get some input on.
I currently use yahoo to host my web site and I'm having a lot of problems with them not supporting simple features. My question is, who would you all recomend for web site hosting. I like yahoo because it is cheap and gives a lot of storage and data transfer for the money. But they do not support some simple php codes. Also they do not provide support for php or mysql. It has really driven me crazy. so please let me know of a good hosting provider that gives a lot of storage and data transfer and has good customer support and supports php and mysql
One more question. if i switch my host will It effect my serp and page rank?

if you want companies like that, you can pick up
    hostgator
    1and1
    etc.
    i've personally never used them.

changing hosts will not affect serp or page rank

If you switch providers it shouldn't affect anything about your domain and website, as long as you transfer it correctly.

It is better to use a small hosting company than a big one, just as long as you know they won't leave you hight and dry, because of the great support and otherwise.

I have my own web hosting company and you can check it out at www.fabhost1.com

Lordy mentioned Host Gator. I've been using them for several years and I've been quite happy. No problems with downtime and the tech support has been there when I needed it. They do have PHP and MYSQL. If you do decide to go with them here are a couple coupon codes.
    HGC25 $9.94 off
    jury $9.94 off
    iceishot $9.94 off
    Hostcritique” $9.94 off
    webhostingunleashed $9.94 off
    MUSICA $9.94 off

    Goodluck!

I highly recommend HostICan. They are a professional company, on many many MANY sites they have 0 negative feedbacks, including download.com. They have Live customer service, contact forms, and a community if you really can't get the help you need. They have very cheap prices and they provide a FREE domain name FOR LIFE ( will not expire untill you die )

Terahost = 500 gb, unlimited bandwidth, msql, php, cgi, perl, asp, php myadmin, unlimited msql databases, custom php.ini, ecommerce, cpanel, etc etc etc ... 10.95/ month

Basehost = 200 gb, 2500 gb bandwidth, same as terahost in all the other areas, except msql database limited to 50. 6.95/month

VERY VERY cheap check it out ... www.hostican.com

I would deffinitely ditch the Yahoo! hosting, I am sure you can find better deals, however just keep in mind the words cheap and reliable tend to drift apart in the hosting world. It really depends on how reliable a site you need.

I'm looking for the best. I want to rebuild my site and use a lot php, mysql and others. Have a lot of storage, transfer and bandwidth. I also want to build a forum site and a social networking site similar to myspace and hi5 so I need them to buy capable of that as well.

Dreamhost is not bad. There are coupons where you can get the first year for only $21. Unbelievable amount of features, just not too reliable. Goes down for about 5 hours every month but at least they are honest and tell you when they go down. Great for personal sites.
