i just installed vista for the first time and geesh! its graphics interface is gorgeous and the best i have seen in windows versions. i love it :D

I am surprised that many people say vista is bad, which is totally untrue :D

Actually I believe it was Microsoft themselves to imply it was "bad"... ;)

The windowing environment you are talking about is not the operating system. Most problems people have with Vista are with the OS and not necessarily the pretty, blinking lights.

Vista is pretty, but it is slow, my laptop can't even run it, not only that, it makes some things difficult, also, at first a lot of people hated UAC...Overall its just not worth having to most people who want to get work done, not flashy graphics.

With just about everything else mankind has ever made, things are supposed to get more streamlined, smaller and more efficient. Cars are supposed to go faster and get better gas mileage, computers are supposed to run faster, light bulbs are supposed to consume less power, metals get lighter and stronger,,,,, - but with vista microsoft has gone backwards in time.

Vista consumes more power, cpu and memory then any other OS that microsoft has ever made. Windows 95 could run well on 16 - 32 megs of memory. Windows 98 and windows 2000 took 128, windows xp took 256 just to even run, vista is what,,, at least 756 - 1 gig to run? This is backwards thinking.

Vista should be able to run well on less then 128 megs of memory. Everything else in the world gets more efficient, faster and smaller - except the stuff from microsoft. Something is wrong there.

I second the guy above. Window vista is awful! Actually after I bought a mac I will never go back to any sorf of windows. It's so nice not to have to deal with the latest virus or spyware crap.

Vista is good, the only thing is it take more ram. If you have big ram, then everything is great

in vist the only good thing is graphics but if you want the bad stuff here it is. You cannot be an administrator, you cannot run advanced stuff which run at low level due to compatibility problems, some programs cant run on start up, you have to be asked a thousand times if you want to run a program even though you used your own fingers to click on its icon. and many compatibility problems, lack of updated drivers, needs huge ram, and most of all have to change the code in my programs for it to run on vista

Agreed! but nowadays new hardware is coming which i believe everybody can afford. Remember for good graphics you will need more hardware power. i myself a gamer and i can afford it.

I guess vista is best for surfing the internet and not suited for other work. Since i only use my laptop for surfing, its looks much better :)

The only problems faced in windows vista is about drivers and compatibility.

Windows 7 should have been what Vista was. Vista should have never been released as it is. Windows 7 got it right though.

Vista will run perfectly if you have a good hardware specification and I'm really satisfied with it.

But it still Windows, I'm going to switch to Mac after this.

Vista is decent OS and I have no problem in my laptop.

The problem with Vista was Microsoft itself:
    1. They didn't cooperate with OEMs, so when Vista was out, there were large problems with drivers.
    2. That used Apple successfully with their anti-Windows ads which badly hurt Vista sales.

Anyway, Vista brought a lot of improvements over XP.

LOL! You just installed it dude, wait till you start using it for your everyday tasks and you'll see how slow and demanding it is. It's a power hogging beast.

The answer to your title: About 99.9% of the people who use it! :)

I used to get 3hr battery time in XP but only 2hr with Vista with my notebook. Thats shows it consumes more power!
