Digg is still one of the top 15 social bookmarking sites at a ranking of #8. Even though it's not as big as it used to be, there is still traffic that comes there and some of that traffic could be your traffic.
This post brings back some old memories. Thank you sir. I haven't heard about Digg in a LONG time now, but just 5-6 years ago, it was super popular!
You know the constant thing in SEO world (most probably on the online world) is change. That's one of the things I always keep in mind.. One thing I will remember on Digg though, I have submit some of my articles(url) a number of times but unsure on where does it go. Seriously, where? Anyhow, maybe I'm not doing it right, all this time haha
I remember Digg very well and still remembering Digg as I type this because I still use Digg to this day. Surely Digg aren't as giant as it once was ten years ago but Digg still brings in good amounts of traffics for the websites owners if they know how to use Digg properly instead of just spamming the heck out of Digg because that isn't going to work. Not only Digg I use to share my blog posts with, I also still use delicious (remember Delicious?) and also Reddit although Reddit is now the king of all (over Digg, Delicious, StumbleUpOn etc).
Yes sure is still good for getting traffic but digg is little bit strick in spam things you should be careful when you post links there to get traffic.
Well, more and more people start to use alternatives to Google to find stuff on the Web and I myself started to rediscover Digg last night. I still find it very useful.
Top reason why I still advise my clients to have their own web sites and use all these social media outlets to promote, not create their brands there. If Facebook goes down, which it will probably do one day, the business owners who didn't create their own sites, but had company pages there, might not have a good day. Digg was a pretty decent traffic resource many years ago, but I have to say that I stopped using it a while ago.
o/~ Those were the days m'friend, we thought they'd never end, sing and (google) dance, forever and a day. We'd live the life we choose, and thought we'd never lose, those were the days, oh yes those were the days! o/~ (and webcrawer, altavista, AskJeeves)
Great advice. I originate ALL my content at my blog, then push it out. That way I control the content, and if one of these sites goes the way of the dodo, all my content remains. As long as my host stays in business that is. (j/k of course I have offsite backups)
