Guys, i'm just looking for some opinion here. If there were a general demographics of people who needed Credit Report, who would they be? Age group, income level, education level, etc.? I'm not from the U.S., and would like to understand the demographics of people looking for such Credit Report better as I intend to delve into this niche. Any comments are appreciated!
Check out http://www.quantcast.com/ Put in a popular credit report website and check their demographics.
kingwallace: makes an excellent suggestion... I think you are looking at a huge variety of people when it comes to the folks who need credit reports. They play a huge role in getting a mortgage/buying a home, but they are also now used to screen renters, particularly in major metropolitan areas. Plus, people who are buying a car. Basically, anything financed. I think you're looking at people between the ages of 21 and 65, primarily, of both genders. Younger than 21 and they've not had as much time to damage their credit severely (though of course there are wild exceptions to this). If you pitched to people who are moving, that'd make a good niche right there. They're almost certainly going to have their credit checked by their new landlord so that'd be where I'd aim. It'd also give you good context-based ads if you focused on all the different aspects of making a move. You wouldn't need to PUSH the credit report and you could probably still get people to sign up for one if you strongly stated that there credit will be checked. Just my thoughts, hope they help!
@KingWallace - I did check Quantcast, but it was heavily femaled biased, and more towards low-income demographics.. @glowstormlion - that's a great insight there, i never knew how important credit reports are, and when their credit score will be checked. This real estate angle is a interesting one.. thanks!
