They have teamed up with yahoo and yahoo provides them bandwidth , they make no revenue. they do get donations but they spend it on their servers and maintainance. for more info on them check this out - wikimediafoundation.org/wiki/Wikimedia:About

Wikipedia seems to be one of those business models
that just wants traffic and eventually will pitch the
whole thing to Yahoo or Google for millions.

    Yep, wikipedia is non-profit.

They might be getting goverment grants and funding.

They don't make money, and stay alive with donations.

If wiki would start monetizing their site..they would easily cash in over 25k a day.

Like I said, the people behind Wikipedia is soon launching Wikia. This search engine will of course be well integrated to Wikipedia, and trought that they will probally make tons of money.

My guess: 75.000 $ a day. And this is just an estimate calculated on what news sites earn per cpm... They generate 50 million pageviews per day I thought... let's say 15$ per 10.000 pageviews and that gives you that number.

Not bad hey for a site :))))

I reckon they will either be bought by Google before the next dot com crash, or go down with it.

Why would they "go down with it"?

Wikipedia isn't a public company - not even a company...
