Well worth the listing fee, I have 8 sites there I think. The best $25 on a directory you could ever spend IMO.
Thanks to all for the comments. Indeed, the goal is not to be DMOZ or the biggest directory. It is to be a high quality, spam free directory that is good for everyone. As others have said, I believe the fees are quite reasonable for listing in the site. As most know, PR changed for very few sites that already had PR with this latest update. I suspect the site will be PR8 on the next update, for those who use that as an indication.
Mystik... were you dissapointed when you got a PR4 on the latest update? I would think at least a 6 but I guess you have to start somewhere.
Indeed, PR is meaningless to me directly. The only reason I care about it is because other people do and use it for an indication of site value. As for the PR4, PR did not change at all for any of my sites that had been through a PR update previously with this last one. As for getting a PR4 before that, I was very surprised. It seems to have been some sort of glitch, though, because many of the internal pages have PR6, PR5, etc. I imagine it should all sort out on the next update.
I think he should. Directory submission is mostly driven by PR ratings. Ask yourself this question... Should I pay $xx amount of dollars to be listed in a PR0 directory?
Then i expect you to pay half the promotion expenses alive dir has made. If you have a minimum budget of 5k$ then yes you also get the same number of backlinks.
I think you might have misunderstood what Michael was saying by mistake... He was saying he would pay for submission if a PR0 had significant backlinks.
i have seen it being in signatures all over the board, so was curious to know who was actual owner. the directory is no doubt a clean and heavily advertised directory. wish you a great success mystik
I was wondering the exact same thing. Alive Directory looks pretty amazing. I just submitted my site -- Just curious how much he paid you folks to put it in your sig haha
I'm not going to disclose that because it is handled on a case-by-case basis, and usually depends on the number of posts a person has/does.
