I noticed that directory everywhere... Some heavy promotion is going on and some money is being used for what seams one of the most ambitious projects for that kind of directory within the DP community, if I'm not mistaken...
Mystik Media did lot of advertising to some of their site.They dont mind spending $2-$3 to advertise their site from a directory and signatures in different forums because to be included in their directory is very expensive.I think they can get back what they spend with the price listings in their directory. Well i would say the Alive Directory is worth that amount of listing. It has a High number of backlinks, and iam sure it will reach a minimum of PR8 by next update. Good Luck Mystic Media. If you need something you need to invest in that. You can get advt,page rank without paying $
Its a massive project for Chris, i am pretty sure this would be the biggest thing in directories in coming years. He is trying to challenge DMOZ.

I'm not so sure that the goal is to have a "big directory", but a quality directory with decent and relevant sites. From what I have seen the directory is well organized, well put together, and extremely devoid of crap listings. Looks to me like he is doing a fantastic job!
