What if I post the lyrics to a song?

What if that song is not mine?
What if that song is mine?

There are many things to say about, but I'm not sure to reply due to this in ahkip signature:

"I banned myself from DP, Email or IM if needed"

if you banned yourself, how or who is asking this?

The person who created the article would hold the intellectual copyright as far as i see it.

So regarding lyrics to a song ... If you post a copy here of someone else's work the person who wrote it in the first place still owns it.

normally always the author is owner of his writing - except if TOS say otherwise by the time of initial membership membership begin -
in a forum however i also could imagine that an excellent lawyer may say it's public domain and hence all may qote what is written in a forum even for profit on other sites

hence if anything of true value is published and you have any doubts - publish on your own site and link to it to maintain clear legal ownership status if that is important

however in nowadays time of easy money - even if published on own site - you find thosuands of others stealing content for automated site-content creation to use your content to make easy $ with adsense etc.

its no longer a legal issue to debate legal ownership of content - as such legal debates and copyright infringement suites woulld cost you all your $ and sitll continue
