I disagree... Windows 98 SE was the ultimate platform. I know several people using it and I'm telling them never to upgrade or get a new computer. Eric
I used windows 98 from its release until ME. When ME came out I heard alot of crap about it, and someone gave me a disk because they didn't want it anymore. So I installed Windows ME. Then I did the patch routine off their site. Then I sat back, and looked at my 98 machine, then back at the better ME machine. It was good. For three years I used Windows ME without a crash, without a cataclysm, without a total nuke on the system. I upgraded my other computer at the time. I was afraid to take the jump to XP from ME for a while, and I couldn't afford it - and although XP is far superior to ME - ME really wasn't all that bad. For THREE years it was running on my main computer, which I constantly upgraded and updated, two years on my secondary machine, and a year on the third backup machine. After I upgraded them to XP they all died within a month and had to be reformatted.
Yes, the beauty of controlling the polls. I almost just made all Yes's just to give nobody a choice. Hehe!
Answering that I loved it more than win95 is like saying I love it more than !?@$?#% That is basically a NO... ME was the worst thing that has happened since the AMC Gremlin
what's this thread doing here? it should go at Antiques chat I don't know who is still using ME. i used him in 2000-2001 but that was it. it was great for it's time but now it has fallen behind
my parents run ME on one of their computers... i always urge them to switch to XP before i go insane lol... they are alwas like... its so slow... but then when im like... BUY XP... they are like... no we like it how it is
For me it is still better than Win 98 SE. If you own 98 it's not worth upgrading to ME, but if you have a new PC at that time, ME is the way to go.
I've had far less problems with WinME than I had with Win98. It was the best Windows Home OS until XP.
