Who knows anything about .cid for images in emails using Outlook Express?

I have a client who is receiving embedded images in an email but unable to see the images because of the call to a .cid function.

Anyone know how to circumvent this?

Tried that...there's not much out there. Seems to be a new thing. Is it?

 

CID stands for Character Identifiers (CID)

A new type of font that has a simplified internal structure and a compact file size, resulting in improved performance for large character sets such as Chinese, Cyrillic, Japanese, and Korean.

ermmm...I think this is something quite different to .cid in an email.
