I decided to try some brand new hosting going back 3 months ago, I already knew about Hostgator/Bluehost - all the usuals but saw a new hosting company with a good package and went for it. I could tell they were new as they were very polite and responded fast to tickets which is great, I am however noticing loading speed issues on my site and am now going to have to move back to Hostgator this week which is a pain in the ass.

I am currently using many hosting companies including Hostgator, Bluehost, Hostmonster, Inmotion, Fatcow. I can say all of them made me satisfied since I am using only a common web platform such as Joomla / Drupal / Wordpress / PHPLinkdirectory.

I was using a Servint VPS, to host my sites, I say was as I took them down a little while ago to take a break and fresh look at things, but I plan on starting up with them again in the next month or two. I've tried a few and read up on many, nothing has compared to their CS and server speed in my experience.

    Hi MTRSEO
Sorry for late reply, had my head down building a music blog, really its the uptime, value for money and service I have received, I have services from 3 other companies and none of them compare, you can also get a good cashback deal if you shop around.

I use namecheap and servage (mostly).
Namecheap is good - very fast - very stable and really very little downtime, but the customer service is a little stiff - perhaps one for the more experienced webmaster. Their forum is useless - no one uses it lol. Uses cpanel.
Servage is very good - customer service is ok and stability is good. Only downside is that they use their own custom built version of cpanel - there's nothing wrong with it, it's just different.

This thread turned into more of a self promotion thread, it seems

it was meant to be, self promotion or affiliate links :)
Me I use dreamhost and I can seriously say (without smiling) that they are the best I've met in over 10 years and more than half a dozen hosts I tried in different countries (well europe/canada/us)

But I'm not paid to promote them, let just say that they are good at customer service/support and for the prices/hardware, well I pay them with paypal, my paypal account is filled in by ad networks through my sites traffic, so in fact web hosting is paid easily by the sites, it's not a problem and I think it's cheap, but I wouldn't know as I stopped shopping around ever since I've bought 10 years with dreamhost when the 10 years plan was still available.
I still have money to pay every month as I use a VPS and the cost depends on memory usage.
