Are you sure? I do believe if you say the bought servers or racks from The Planet, but I do not think they are reseller of anyone.
Are you guys talking about domain hosting or servers? As hosts use datacenters to host websites/domains. If you are going for datacenter size then it will not be HG but some other company. But for a single company that hosts the most domains/websites I know HG is well up there.
i think hostgator and godaddy, NC for domains. liquidweb is also a good company, making progress day by day
HostGator has a much larger web prescence so i'm sure they are accumulating at a much higher rate then Verio.
lol and still you guys keep on talking about small hosts like hostgator or verio. 1and1 is by far the biggest. With over 38000 servers they rock the world. Over 3 million customers.
I'm a little suprised with the list. 1. Dreamhost.com 2. 1and1.com 3. Hostgator.com 4. Namecheap.com 5. Godaddy.com 6. Yahoo.com Remember Serverbeach had all of youtubes server up until google bought youtube. Then we have Softlayer, rackspace and the planet as others that should probably make the list. I guess the next question is what does it mean or what value is it to be the "biggest" in volume of servers.
Hey LW, This comparison is actually based on Shared Hosting services Not the Dedicated Server providers, i personally think, SL is the best out there, as i m hosting most of my servers with them and one with LW
Verio would be the biggest, or at least from what I've seen. 1&1 is big too, but they're well known cause they advertise in every single PC Gamer and PC World issue with like 4 page ads. Host rocket is also pretty big, they have a datacenter that can hold thousands of servers.
I would recommend Liquid Web as the biggest & best, over 2 years & always had good experience with them, no downtime (so far) & fast support
hmm.. I wouldn't see which is the LARGEST or the Smallest webhost.. I would go for Servage(Best for high BW),Blue Host(Good for High Traffic) or Host Monster(Good for High Traffic,Currently Using HM) Cheers!
Depends on what you put in the "biggest" The host that hosts most sites? The host that has most clients? The host that earns most? The host that is best known? The host that is most popular? There is so many factors that kicks in when you rank the "biggest" hosting company! 1and1 might host 3million sites, but Hostgator might earn more then them! Dreamhost might earn less then HG and 1and1 but is the most popular and best known! Or ?
