    I don't think there is a best search engine. Which is the best is depends on different needs. You can search this question on different search engines, and I'm sure you will get different answers. I think the appropriate one is the best one. The key is how to find the appropriate one for us.

    I hate to say this -because I hate monopolies- but Google is best so far.

    It brings more accurate results than any other and "understands" you better when doing a random search that seems nonsense.

    However, and from my point of view, it has many performance annoyances, and one I hate particularly is its geo-targeting feature. Who in hell says I want to load my local version rather than plain google.com?
