It is difficult to say what is the best. There is no one top all-rounded hosting company. You will probably need to select one which meets your needs at the price you are willing to pay.

Use a big company, not the small ones.

I would recommend Hostgator but then again there are some people with bad experiences with it aswell .
Generally , what you get is what you pay for . Dont go for new hosting companies .

It all depends. If you are looking for one domain name hosting, I would rather go with a company that doesn't offer unlimited domain names with one account... why?

1.) not that many domains on one IP, usually

2.) more resources for your site (it makes a difference if you are on a box with 100 sites, not 1579, but again, depends, one site can generate more load/traffic that 5484 on the same server)

3.) better support.... (usually, but there are companies offering better support that are hosting 56,000 domains rather than one man show hosting 56 sites).

4.) less chance for IP to be banned

5.) less chance of getting slightly lower SERps due to unknown linking schemes... if the provider is hosting 300,000 domains on a few C blocks and you link exchange with some nice sites on the same/close C address blocks... low possibility, but still counts! ;)

Maybe I pay too much attention to small details, but it all counts in this (SEO) competing market

Go with a host that has cPanel. Godaddy does not have that, their user panel is not good.

www.dimensionservers.com is a host that I really can recommend. I have never gotten a better support anywhere. The time worth they spend on me on one month is like a years cost of hosting :) And they do not mind that :) They was even tweaking their server for my use, and that for 9.99 a month.
This is the host for the future.

(sorry that I got carried away prising them, looks like an ad now, but its really my opinion)

Is there any webhost provider in your website you suggest that you don't have an affiliate link attached ?
