    Hi,

Who is the best... at fighting fraud! Putting aside for the moment opinions about costs, services, reputation etc..

Which 3rd party payment provider would you place at the top of the pack for combating fraud if selling digital goods (MP3) with immediate download?

    Who is the best:
    Paypal
    ClickandBuy
    Google
    Worldpay

Main concern being that crooks like to test cards on the web and if you are providing instant downloads you get no opportunity to cancel the order and avoid the chargeback.
Also ClickandBuy allow for "Easy Collect" were you debit the customer later. Would this help avoid a chargeback fee?

    Many thanks

Paypal has a "non-tangible" item clause which means if someone disputes your item, You will win. Also as far as credit card fruarders are concerned only 1 paypal account per credit card, Its not a definite solution to fraud but given the fee's WorldPay charge i would assume its a best bet.

Im sure others will give you a more definitive response tho. :)

Seems your business is more exposed to fraud, best to get a high risk merchant account IMO.

    Spam?

so thats 3 thumbs up for paypal, good to hear.

    >Paypal has a "non-tangible" item clause
thanks, I will look into this.

Can anyone tell me what other types of fraud I may be up against?

I am at the point of choosing a cart and having the site developed but now realize I must decide on a payment provider asp, so this has become the million dollar ?uestion.

I quickly tallied up a bunch of digi-stores (medium to small stores) and this is what i got:

    ::Disclaimer: not definitive::

    IMS 12
    Paypal 12
    Worldpay 5
    Clickandbuy 4
    Google 1

All of the above providers are used in digital stores but all have pros and cons as far as costs, services, reputation etc..
So if fraud is a big factor in digital-download-stores then that is what will sway me either way.

I would like to offer 2 payment options so Paypal is obviously the 1st choice but as an alternative maybe worldpay or clickandbuy?
Has anyone used Clickandbuy? I can not find anything on the forums.
I have read a lot of posts about Worldpays chargebacks, how suited are they to digital downloads?
I do not want the responsibility of hosting my own IMS at this time.

Many thanks for all your help

I should have included this quote from the 2nd link:

"Any foreign transaction incurs the usual Macro account fee regardless of value."

Anyway I am side tracking from the fraud topic, any opinions about Worldpay Direct or ClickandBuy as an alternative payment option for securely distributing digital downloads?

    Many thanks

If you are concerened about chargebacks then the only payment processor that can guarantee no refund is e-gold.
