    Hello Everyone,

For a while now I have been using paypal to send and receive money. I am about to set up a new account for my company which is about to launch in one week. I am wondering, who is the best online payment company? Alot of people use paypal, but who do you use, or find the most reliable?

    Thanks

    Jonathan

Different solutions are best for different companies.

What kind of product are you selling?

Is it a tangible item thats shipped, or downloadable software or media?

Do you sell high dollar items or sell to other businesses, or is it low dollar/consumer goods?

If it's a digital product do you need any kind of licensing or recurring billing?

Do you sell one product/service, or do you need shopping cart software so you can post a whole catalog online?

Most reliable I would say is paypal or e-gold (not alertpay because they take forever to process payments). I'm sure there are other reliable ones though. Like RedXer said "best" depends on what you're using it for.

We will be providing digital items that will cost $12.50 at the most. We also need it to be re-occurring monthly payments

Paypal is probably the best use for you simply because most people use it. You want to offer an easy payment solution for your customers. Also paypal has the ability to do reoccuring payments.

I prefer Moneybookers, but Paypal is more widely used.

Are google checkout reliable? Also do they have a feature that allows for monthly billing to customers?

I would use Moneybookers too. PayPal is just a pain in the a** if you are a seller.

About e-gold: it´s in now way reliable anymore since it had/has the problems with the government

Paypal is the best bet for non adult transaction

For adult sites CC Bill is the best bet

Alertpay is also emerging gradually and caters to both types

Never heard of them yet but seem reliable definitely. But I don´t think this matches exactly the OP´s needs
