You first posted that your friend made a request to paypal to downgrade the account and now you are saying that Paypal downgraded the account without any warning?? again do you know what you are asking?? and as far as for proof about who abused or not.. just ask it your self and browse around many threads here you ll find guys saying that yes we used to accept business payments as personal payments. and even you may find many guys that don't even understand abt the diff between business payment and personal payment.. I guess you are not out of them.. IMO.. and NO I am not a paypal employee lol.. I am just a normal user like u but I am just writing from my experience...
Now I will come to the point directly. You would never come to know about anybody's genuineness at the first time. OKAY? You will HAVE TO give it a shot. If you are doing business then you would always want to expand your business by serving new clients. RIGHT? First, clear your thoughts and then make posts here. Even if you have to make long business relation then also YOU WOULD HAVE TO START WITH SOMEONE YOU HAVE NEVER DONE ANY BUSINESS BEFORE. Anyhow, I don't want to get on a wrong foot. Well i don't have any proof of non Indians using personal payments against the pay pals policy.... But at the same time it is insulting to say only Indians have abused pay pal. I'm sure many around the world would have taken advantage of this personal payment option. Well at the end of the day we are all human. We would think alike on certain things. Well it's just a request, stop abusing Indians alone....

Then after knowing that the user will use the account for business and then how come PayPal downgraded from Business to personal account? why PayPal don't even bother to tell him that he can not use freelancing payments as personal and account can't be downgraded! I think you did not read correctly.
Yep, I know many people from different countries who ask me to pay them as PERSONAL for the service they provide. They should also be facing the same problem.

I have read it 100% correctly dude.. and the thing here is your friend was confused itself.. He first thought that if I downgrade my account to personal it ll save few bucks..IMO but after few days he found some restrictions so he didn't liked that.. obviously.. and as far as for paypal dude he has requested paypal do change it to personal and they did.. why they bother to tell your friend or suggest a better solution?? they are not frm HR department.. lol.. They do business and they just did what your friend requested.. Now don't try to defend ur statments

hahaha lol now you understood the point completely.. but the thing is I didn't always abused it.. you can just think if I were having 30 payments I have just abused 10 payments and all the other payments were with business payments.. as I can't always beg to pay as personal payment.. it feels shy to me.. I suggest all of you guys don't try save pennies try to think big and earn big.. don't avoid fee.. as they are also here to do business.. and in reality the thing is we all guys compete ourselves with service rates and then try to leverage profits from paypal fee.. but it is cheap.. I guess we all need to charge high to our customers so all will be well..

If you don't know abt it read on paypal site. 2. Here you clearly mentioned.. Why Paypal downgraded his account without confirming it with your friend.. it means he talked abt the same way which you wrote here.. so it is explicitly visible that he was not happy with it.. Even if thats rite that doesnt justify paypal reversing transcations of eveyone.. they can add a code in thier system and prevent people from sending personal payments to indians
as far as I know they are just doing the same thing (and in reality they did it).. dude.. and yes they are reversing bcz they need to start from a specific date.. so they started it from Feb 1st.. so all the payments that were made in that period got reversed.. and yes I know you ll ask then why service/other payments also got reversed.. it is bcz may be there is a technical issue with that.. may be there is a SAME function/module they are using for both personal and service/other payments.. I hope you understand.
I guess you are not getting my point, what I am trying to say from starting, he clearly informed his purpose of use of the account. PayPal may not downgrade to personal. secondly, don't you think PayPal don't aware of all these payments? next, why only Indian accounts? programmers from other countries don't abuse PayPal? they all get paid only though Business account? Sorry to bother all of you but I can't agree with "we all Indians are responsible for it bcz we abused their system. " why all Indians? there is not a single person in India who don't abuse PayPal?
