Hi Yangyang, Where did you get the content information from?
And if you dun have time to improve on it, how can you improve on the site?

Why dun you just sell this site to me? $0.50 a day X 365 days = $182.50

I will pay you $182.50 for it. A year's earnings..

    Interested?

I redesigned the entire site based on tips from people on these forums. So far that hasn't helped.

Amit, obviously you heed the wrong advice... you need a total revamp of the site. Narrow your width of template to about 780-800 px... Centralise template.. 2 columns template.

Find a free template. something that is much more professional looking.. you are writing about a very important person, you need to look professional for good 1st impression.

Come back to me when you have the new template.

    Excuse me, sir? :|

Wrote them almost all by myself, I have been studying economics and finance for more than 3 years in college, though paraphrased some of the textbook stuff. And the pics are done with coreldraw.

Thanks for the reply but sorry, because I'm really looking forward to your advice. Approximately 10 guys have offered to buy my site, only the prices are lower than acceptable.

    Sorry :(

I own a smallish network of sites, I make about $5-$6 a day, which when you add it up on a monthly basis, it's not so bad at all.

This is a classic example of 336 put into good use.

In the middle, above the fold, right in between the focused visual space of the visitor. You are not forcing him to click on it, but bringing him to the ads's attention. And the best part is, sometimes, image ads, says "click here". So you dun even need to tell your visitors what to do.

Hope you dun mind me featuring your site Mr Websites. I just can't help showing your site off to keen learning people who are faring under $5 a day..

I think i helped you cleared that level, it is only fair that you can help others too.

I also earn about 1-2 buckes per day.. If i'm lucky I might get 3 bucks per day.. But then again my site is still new (few months old) and my visitor is mostly targeted for a single country..

Any advice on how I can earn more?

Everything looks ok, just a few things.

    i) the logo, a bit color opinionated.. find something else to put ontop.
ii) if you can widen the template by 10px... will be good.

If you read his previous thread, where he was talking about Google stopped showing ads due to adult cotents on his site... It would means that Google has seen the ads above the fold. And if Google did not warn him about that issue, I think its fine..

It is not against the TOS to put ads above the fold, as long as below the fold there are contents.. which in this case he has got.

Tonnes of Adsense publishers are actually doing that, so no worried..

i)Try hovering on the image next to the ads...
Maybe you can get rid of that.
    ii) remove border around image..
iii) Your CSS is abit distractive... your navigation menu bar.. hoverover...
iv) you increased the width but you did not increase the width of the logo image..

    v) increase of 10px only... this seems more than 10 px..
vi) remove the wording "Sponsors". These are not adsense, no need to put a header.
vii) remove "Links" Those are ads, not links..
viii) narrow the template by at least 50px. Basically neat and tidy

    Name: Awesome Gadget
    URL:http://www.awesomegadget.com
Average earnings per day with Adsense: <$1

How much time a week do you have to spend on improving:
Now spending quite a lot time to finetune the site. Plan to limit that to 6 hours/week. Now increasingly spending time on the advertisement.

I'm quite puzzled how to get people actually to login to the website. They can then use bookmarks, write reviews etc. I thought that was a good idea, but now I find myself spending a lot of time finding nice gadgets to show on the site...

I've used digg, stumbleupon and this forum to increase sightings. That helped a bit. But just yesterday, I found that the banners of Adsense totally broke down the layout of the site.

    So maybe my first questions:

what do you think of the site? What would you improve on it so it would both generate more traffic as generate a bit more income?

Thanks a lot for having a look! I really appreciate any comments... :D

    auriga,

hi, i just went on your site. i am sure moneymakingguru will help you with the adsense and design part. i'd like to throw in my two cents about the content. i am not really a gadget person, so sites like yours are useful, however, it took me a while to find out what your site was about to begin with. being in advertising myself i know that when you advertise on the web, you may have the users attention for 15-20 seconds. if in that time, he doesn't find something of interest, he'll just move on to another site.

so, i'd say you have a home page that tells people about your site, and maybe in bullet points, lists out what your site offers. for example, gadget reviews, specifications etc.

that way, the user is not confused when he enters the site.

    that's my humble opinion anyways.

That's already a very good suggestion! I really appreciate your suggestion! I'll keep it in mind :)

So you suggest something like a page that gives the user a intro to the website? Should the user see that every time he/she goes to the website? I think it's a bit annoying, if you're used to the site, not?

Maybe something with a cookie? That remembers whether the user has been on the site before?
