Many e-commerce websites I saw recently just plain eye wash. Most of them displays cool products, but not so cool sales. Some do decent earnings though.

Anybody here really making good amount of money from e-commerce site?

Yes, I do, at UniversityStore.com. I have a unique way of marketing it too, which I think really gives it a boost. If you're interested in the method and willing to pay a few bucks, I'd be willing to help you out as well!

I'm working for a client that has an ecommerce site selling specialized furniture. He doesn't get alot of traffic to the site per month but still manages to generate $2000 in sales. Keep in mind that he is selling high ticket items in a niche market. So ecommerce sites can really do well especially if they are niched and you have a great product line.

If you are dropshipping then you can have a bigger product line. He personally doesn't dropship so he is limited on the various products to sell which is why he doesn't bring in more sales as he could.

I've made a lot of money from my triathlon side business.

    Was it worth it?

In some ways, very much so. In other ways, no, too much of a pain in the arse.

quantity of products has nothing to do with how much money you can make. If you have a good product and good customer support, you can make good money. Too niche is bad, but having a solid niche is often far more profitable than having "Billy Bob's Website of Stuff" where you have everything from electronics to paper towels. In fact, those websites frequently do horrible from what I have seen. Internet marketing is all about targeting, targeting, targeting, this is the same for the field of ecommerce.

This is a good way to make money from eCommerce. If you're new in eCommerce and haven't many customers and sales, then it would be a long time to market your products and website.

This is very true. I've got several products that I'm finding very difficult to sell off. It's quality, not quantity.

The business I owned cleared a week of $xx,xxx before I sold. We launched nationally 2 weeks before, so those sales were contributed to the amount of new customers. I should mention that we operated on an expanded e-commerce plan which allowed us to go to the next level. I am considering writing an e-book to cover this method, but I need to develop another e-commerce site to use as proof.

There are tons of stores on Etsy.com making some really good money! I mean some of those stores are making like 20 30 sales each day. However those sellers aren't self hosted so they do have some limits plus lots of fees.
