I've received a few link exchange requests from . The "name" for each of the emails is the partner's name that is being promoted at this time (e.g. Neboweb). Obviously they're an SEO company, but what SEO company would use a GMail account?
For link exchange and directory submission i use gmail as well for 2 reasons: 1. Huge storage. 2. Their spam filter is good.
Agreed. Sounds very unprofessional and I sure wouldn't reply to any company using a gmail account. WTF? I have like 1000 gb of storage of my server, no need to use gmail for that. Any hosting company offers you way more storage than gmail.
Ok, there is no point using Gmail for a professional email... I thought so. I was wrong. Guys sorry for that stupid input of mine..
No harm, no foul, irka. Basically, fryman hit one of my concerns on the head: GMail, no matter how big its storage, will never match the mail storage associated with a good hosting plan. For example, I have over 30 GB storage on my dedicated box still left to use. So why can't the SEO company? The spam filter, I suppose, is a possibility. It is free and all. But then that still leaves the question: who are they?
Yes, gmail has forwarding. Alothough you can only forward it to one email address not multiple. We have a network of around 550+ websites, whenever a new domain is registered and link building is required, i create a email on that domain and use that domain for submissions and all the emails on are forwarded to a gmail address. Because i am lazy and do not really find time to check on each of the websites info email addresses, i prefer all the emails coming to one place. Plus, when you do link building your email address is submitted to numreous places and theres a lot of spam, so gmail filters almost everything related to spam.
