I have to agree with Crazy Rob. There is no way in hell that I would ever go back to a site that crashed my browser. Let alone go back and try to find some contact info so I can spend my time complaining about something that would be ignored. Any ways, about this whole flyins, pop under ads thing...I'm glad that the coop isn't allowing links to pages with pop ups. I don't want someone clicking a link on my site and them being bombarded with annoying ads like that. I think it would reflect poorly on my site, since I "directed" them there. Please don't hate me, Fryman (you did sound it bit crabby earlier ...haha)
Just plug your ears with Vicious Cotton Balls and sing "na na na na na I can't hear you!", Summer... you'll be fine
VS, there is no restriction on what kind of advertising a webmaster can do on his site. If the guidelines said that you can't have a slider on your site, then I would agree. so, why are the reviewer inventing rules and denying ads without any base?
It would be difficult to construct an exhaustive list of characteristics that define a site as annoying or ugly or offensive, but that doesn't mean one doesn't know it when one sees it...
Nope, you are wrong. That is why there are guidelines, what isn't forbidden is allowed. I wouldn't expect you visiting my site, so I really couldn't care less if you like popups or not, as I said, the site is targeted at young people that have no problem seeing one lousy popup.
Actually that is wrong. Shawn has posted many times that everything is not included on the guidelines. His reasoning is that it would be too big to mention everything directly.
What yfs1 said... Additionally, this isn't about whether I like popups or not since I'm not an editor/reviewer for the Coop. It's about your point that you're being unfairly treated -- my point is that I think MOST people find those things annoying and that, I presume, is why the editor denied you. Again, if you're making so much money from another ad scheme that you don't want to change anything to conform to the Coop, that is certainly your choice... in fact, I'm still confused about why yoiu even care if you're making that much money from it.
Im still confused what does what I earn with my sites have anything to do with using the coop. And bingo, you said exactly what I was trying to say: unfairly treated; some editor is using all kind of pathetic excuses and denying my ads. I am getting again the dumb excuse that it is crashing his browser, I invite any one here to PM me for the URL and go check the site, and there is no way it will crash your browser, as I said, it is just some pathetic excuse and I don't understand why the heck an editor would be acting like a 5 year old and inventing this.
Your site works fine in IE and FF on my computer. The popup is not offensive, I closed it. The pop under was as easy to deal with. I book marked the site for my kid and wife, they like puzzles. Thanks and good luck.
I rest my case. I sent the URL to 2 respected members of the forum and both of them told me that they had no problems at all with the site. I will not continue this argument because I can see that there is no point, the editor is fooling around and keeps denying my ads. It is a pitty that people like these are the ones in charge of aproving ads when they have no respect to their fellow webmasters.
You use the word "respected" rather loosely! LMAO Don't go bunring any bridges. Try and woo your ad reviewer with logic while being nice.
Okay Fryman, step down from your soapbox ... No one is treating you unfairly and I seriously doubt that the coop editors are out to get you. You may have sent your URL to 2 "respected" members, but your site still had pop unders, flyins and/or whatever else got your ad's rejected in the 1st place. Perfect. Do that and stop bitching about how unfair this has made your life (hehe )
Opinionated and cranky can be a dangerious combination. Maybe you and fryman are on the same page today
