I've been keeping a close eye on DP and sitepoint for that matter, but who is DP's biggest competitor?
Not Sitepoint vs. DP - I'm curious as to who's DP's biggest competitor. I haven't been there yet to tell you the truth.
Each forum is unique in it's own way. This forum can not be compared with another forum, just for that reason. The only "other" forum that could be compared as far as usefullness goes, is WMW, which benefits from Google's and other major player's support, though. If DP were to be in that situation, it would've been the nr.1 resource on the net (not that it's not, for some of us).
Well, Webmaster World has been around for so long, they are far ahead of DP at the moment. If Shawn dedicated his time the way he is doing right now for the forum, DP can surpass them, but it would take hell lot of time.
Thats true, but DP forums have made their presence felt, DP is a big player in forums as well now. In a couple of years DP would be at top. Could be less as well.
er SEO Chat doesn't get even close to the number of posts at DP get's. They died many moons ago. Last year when I did a scientific study, DP was 2nd place after SitePoint. SEO Chat would be in 4th Place with ABW 5th if it had been in the study.
Well I just typed in SEO Forums and they came up, but obviously there names proves superior in many ways
As far as the forum portion of Digital Point, growth has been amazingly steady... http://forums.digitalpoint.com/faq.php?faq=dp_faq#faq_statistics
Digital Point's growth is amazing and in such a small amount of time! I checked out the very first thread in the Buy/Sell/Trade -> Sites forum and it was from like March 2004 which was NOT too long ago! This forum has really grown at a fast pace and is beyond steady. Digital Point's main competitors, in reference to the forums, include SitePoint, Webmaster Talk, NamePros, and probably DN Forum. Those are some of the biggest webmaster forums. I am not sure if Webmaster World can compete...site just seems a bit wierd compared to our community. As a business competitor to Digital Point's programs, software, and other virtual products, Shawn said Portal (Portal.com). I have never heard of that but it must be true if he said it. I would also think that many SEO sites, like SEO-Guy and SubmitExpress compete a little bit against some of Digital Point's products/software/services for webmasters. I preferrably love Digital Point now that I am here and have no plans on leaving.
Nintendo is right.. seochat forum has no life in it these days. My posts get reply after days... In DP even in seconds DP.. great going..
