Looks like most of the cheap ,info promotions I know of are gone! I'd appreciate if you post any known promotions still going on.

    thanks

How about a .com with FREE Private Domain Registration (if you want it) for just $5.99?

Plus add great service, customer support and reliability to the deal and you've got 1&1 Internet.

This isn't even a special offer. They sometimes do have promotions where you can get 25% off your order though which is even better!!

I have 23 domains and 16 of them are hosted with 1&1. Why are the others hosted elsewhere? They only cost me $1 each!!!! (Before everyone asks where I got them. They were part of a very special promotion from Exabytes which now charges $14.95 a year for a .com).

Not sure where you heard that or why anyone would say that. I started out with 1 domain with them with their basic hosting package. I chose them because they were cheap and seemed to offer everything I needed.

The domain was actually free with the hosting package. I was quickly impressed with all the features on the hosting package especially considering it was a basic package. :)

The only problem i've ever had was with billing where they couldn't seem to take my money! That all got sorted out and they have always been pleasant and helpful over the phone and by e-mail.

Technical support has always given me the answers i've asked for and i've registered a lot more domains with them. The reliability is great and i've not come across anything remotely close in terms of value and service anywhere else.

I took a few .com domains from exabytes during their crazy $1 sale but that was it. The exabytes domains are pretty useless to me as they didn't include domain forwarding. I've got the DNS entry pointing at Sedo parking for now.

I really do recommend them (1&1). If anyone has had any bad experiences with them, post them here because i'd love to hear them. I'm sure there must be some horror stories out there but I think on the whole they're pretty good.

Now i've heard stories about GoDaddy. My current client is having to switch hosting to another company because his server goes down every night. He's called and e-mailed them but it's like they don't care. He paid up 12 months in advance for a dedicated server and doesn't know if he can get his money back. What a nightmare that is. :(

Then again I hear a lot of people are happy with GoDaddy so it just goes to show you that you shouldn't beleive just one bad report.

1&1 doesn't allow for you to push the domain though. I like godaddy and namecheap and such because when you sell the domains, you can offer the free push. 1&1 does not allow for them.
