I submitted my site as external link recently. But it was first moved to the end by some people. The I moved my link back to the top, some people even removed all my links from wikipedia. I can feel which site webmasters are doing this. Damn If these people are not the owners or editors of those pages, they should not do that for fairness. Why should wikipedia keep their links only while not allowing other people to add a link there?
Everyone controls it (as you know). You can't Spam that site as someone wil quickly report it and/or remove it themselves.
For some pages on the wikipedia there are guard-dogs who look after the pages like their own babies - or should that be puppies. They have alerts set up so that if there are any changes made to a page, they are notified. As an example of this, I added a link to a wikipedia page last week. Within one hour, one of that page's guard-dogs had visited the page and edited my link. Obviously the link I'd added made the grade because the guard-dog didn't delete it, just changed the wording slightly. Anyone can set themselves up as a wikepedia guard-dog.
Stephen Colbert does... http://digg.com/Television/Wikipedi...s_Stephen_Colbert_For_Incitement_of_Vandalism

I have been pleased with my use of Wikipedia, I search Wiki second only to Google. I was hoping Wiki would take over DMOZ. I'd think you'd need a pretty good resource to get it as a link on Wikipedia.
oh wow, imagine if someone really did create a script to completely delete wikipedia!? its probablby protected agains though
