Curious if it's relitevely easy to build up your blog to 50 unique visitors a day... and then just mass produce the blogs

i dont get over 50 a day, but some will vary here and there. the ones that get more traffic are the ones i'll work on. the ones on "auto" don't pull in more than 10 uniques on a constant level.

Here's why you should never make splogs (spam blogs)... other than this it is rude... and you won't rank well in the search engines.

Take your time and write 100% unique content. In the long run you'll be way ahead of the sploggers.

I must admit I have experienced the autoblog first hand. I tried it before it was taboo and did very well for a short period then dropped off to nothing. Not worth wasting a domain on it. I agree with everyone else, unique content is the way to go.

Agree with what everybody above me said. Create good content and you won't have to worry about how many uniques you get and how many blogs you need, because one will be good enough.

Perhaps in a limited way, to augment unique content, for example adding to a news category on a blog, automated content can work, but I wouldn'r go beyond that. Traffic is the key and I've never managed to drive traffic to an automated site of any description.

Some users on my blog, (see sig), are doing it, (the Auto-rss option is by invite only), but they do login once a week to edit some posts, delete some, add a fresh new entry and reply to some comments.

So they are not 100% automated, but almost.

I can see from the stats that they are never doing more than 10-20 uniques a day per blog. Regardless of the niche.

sonofsam, just an idea, if you're too lazy to post unique contents to your blog...
why don't you create a website instead... that allows visitors to subscribe, and so on and so forth... in that way, they are the ones will be creating contents...

E.g; A Localized Classified Ads site!

Hmmm... could be my next project.. soon! :D

I have a automated Video site... It gets me $4 in adsense (every day)...and I get 300-400 uniques a day.

I am ranking #12 for one of the funny video keyword in google. So its the main source of traffic. I occasionally do social bookmarking, submit stories in digg, netscape etc.

The domain was wasted..so just utilizing it :) Probably i'll put the script in 5 more of my unused domains...

Just because some of you dont find it ethical doesnt mean it shouldnt be done. I try everything just to be able to experience things and see how they work out. If you have the time and resources to setup a big network then there is a lot of money to be made

That's the point we, (I?), are not sure about.
Even putting ethics aside, I don't think there is a lot of money to be made in RSS only blogs.

Maybe If you had 20% unique contents and 80% rss, maybe that would work better.
    Just my personal feeling.

Automate blog is like listening to automate receptionist - press 1, for bla..., press 2 blaa..., if you know the extension dial the extension no now...blaa...,

Do you need this version of bla... in the form of blog. I think greed actually the main reason why some people create automate blog. Hope search engines like Google, Yahoo can distinguish what an automate blog that one that is create by human. If possible banned them altogether.

I just set up 10 automated blogs but have added a feed to them from my main site.
If blogs with original content score 10/10 and blogs with automated content score 0/10 what do blogs like my 10 blogs score - 2/10?

I used to run auto-rss blogs. Got some PR. But traffic was poor... Closed that blogs. Even AdSense can ask for quality of your content and traffic. Often they do not accept blogs with stolen content.

autoblogs seem so seductively easy to create content for... but they don't pay off in the long run, waste of time

This might be a dumb question, but are automated blogs always just RSS feeds?

An automated blog can NEVER be as successful as a well-maintained blog with unique content.

Cool ;) I might do that to some sploggers who automatically post my stuff on their sites!
