I'm not saying that you couldn't go public -- I didn't say that, did I?

However, your not, and I repeat myself, NOT going to go anywhere above even $2k trying to get $500 out of a kid. I'd doubt you'd even file a charge with a possible cost of $1k -- It's not worth the time nor the effort.

As of now, you've got two options:

    A) Enter Digital Items in the Tracking Number field on PayPal if it's not too late, keep your money
    B) Let him win the dispute and keep up this "I'm going to sue you" nonsense (which is nonsense) and maybe he'll give in.

edit: Beyond all this, $500 would be Small Claims Court, which, last I read, is no lawyers (a la Judge Judy). So, there'd be no cost to either of you.

You aren't helping at all Soccer. You are making broad assumptions about me, and FYI Small Claims is actually up to $5000. And it's also not a "no lawyers" thing, it's for people who can't afford laywers and very small cases. You can actually bring a lawyer with you to small claims if you want, but it would be seen as a waste. Furthermore that would be for trying to get the money back, which I have repeated I am not trying to do - when you take somebody to court you can take them to CIVIL court (which is trying to get your money back) or CRIMINAL court (which is charging them with a crime and trying to punish them).

You're being insulting, so welcome to my ignore list. You've just joined about 20 other people.

Does anybody else have any useful input on this?

If not, thanks to all of you that actually posted something useful rather than try arguing with me. I appreciate your input.

I'm one of this Victims too.. but thanks to paypal they did not refund the moneyback to the chargeback scammer. I suggest in the subject put "Service/Digital Goods" and in the message put "Service done before payment was made./Digital item received before payment sent to seller." I always do that every time I have transactions.
