yeah, it works perfect, but like, firstly in starting days, you will hate it, but then you will find it similar as Xp.
Vista Ultimate is great. It's a godsend for me. On the first few days, no one likes it, but, once you get used to it (A week) you will love it. However, Vista Home is shit. I used to have it, and it blows.
I use 64 bit Home Premium on my Desktop and 32 bit Home Premium on my Laptop. I have had both since December 2007 and neither have ever crashed! Vista rocks!
It works amazingly well if you have a good system. But if your computer sucks, Vista is going to suck on it. I have an E6600 overclocked to 3GHz for daily use, an 8800gts, 4gb ram, and it runs much faster than XP. I'm using Ultimate x64. Photoshop CS3 opens in less than 2 seconds. You just need to let superfetch do its work and get used to your applications.
Just yesterday I bought my second Windows laptop. My first is actually my son's. He's away at college so I don't see it very much but, when I do, it seems to run well. I forgot the model number of his Dell but it's the next step up from what I just bought my wife, a 1720. My son wanted a better one for games and movies. My wife only needs Windows for Quickbooks, otherwise we wouldn't have Windows at all. On her laptop, Vista seems somewhat sluggish. The graphics on the 1720 are just Intel Enhanced whatever, the same on her desktop. I haven't done anything much more than take it out of the box and turn it on. It has the usual crapware on it that I haven't uninstalled yet, and it hasn't been tuned up, but I was disappointed in its performance. Since I use computers strictly for web programming and system programming, I use FreeBSD and keep everything minimal. When I look at Vista, it's like watching a TV game show and I wonder what all the screaming, blinking lights and bouncing balls are about. It's only distraction. In the meantime, I'm happily typing away on this little PIII 550 Mhz 256Mb desktop FreeBSD system. Like all the other P4s I have, I'll bet I get this notebook in a couple of years as everyone upgrades to their next OS/processor while I accept their free "hand me downs". I haven't had to buy any hardware since 2001.
Lots of people hate Vista... I absolutely love it. Been running it since release and it has been great and stable for me.
I'm using Vista, there are some annoyances, and it took a while to get it the way I wanted it to run (turn off all the security / UAC stuff, tweak the interface a bit, get folders displaying how I like them, etc) - but once it's set up, I think it's better than XP. I'm running Ultimate 64.
As of now my box is running on 32-bit Vista Ultimate and so far all is great, the performance is top class and I haven't experienced any problems with regards to viruses and spyware thanks to the defense that it offers. Speaking of that I have to say that I've been using vista's defense mechanisms for some time and they worked alright. I switched to f-secure like two weeks ago because they offer all in one kind of protection and firewall.
XP XP XP. XP is the best till date. Vista is Ok is u can afford 4GB ram.....even on 2GB it doesnt give its best. m far more happy with my P4 n fast running XP......
i use vista. Seems 2 be fine for me... you'll need a fast computer for it though, preferably a C2D with 2GB of ram.
