I just purchased a large car racing video site TopRedLine.com that has over 17K videos and received over a million uniques a month last summer, but it is not getting near that amount of traffic now. Anyone have ideas of most efficient means to promote. If interested in doing promotion work for me I'd be willing to provide a good percentage of the profits, as I'm somewhat tied up other project and websites.
I think certain problems are there with your site. When I tried search option,it doesn't return anything.
This could be a big issue! I suggest creating videos and adding them to various video sites and linking back to your racing website. Also, sponsoring auto forums like 300Cforums.com, Bimmerforums.com, etc. will surely bring in A LOT of traffic. I hope this info helps. -Aaron
Yes, you really should fix that Search option... That's a very crucial part of any website. But after you fix it, follow these steps: 1) Post new video articles in the appropriate categories on Digg.com 2) Viral-market on Myspace & Facebook, using comments and private messages to as many users as you can 3) Post on forums and blogs with your site's URL in your signature. 4) Spread word of mouth advertising to as many people and Sports/Racing communities as you can. 5) Have all your friends and family help you repeat the previous 4 steps. You'll get Swarms of racing fans to your site like this.
When you purchased the site, those "uniques" may have been bolstered up thru bots to show a high traffic. Now the real traffic shows. I suggest following Zaccarias advice as it contains everything you need to do
Article marketing is a good way of building backlinks to your website this will result in higher serp results so hence a good form of promotion if you dont have time to write and submit articles check out this thread http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=1248879
Search engine fixed! Thanks again for bringing that to my attention. I bet that was one of the causes to my decreasing traffic as of late.
I believe you can get some action from nascar.com's site. Post comments and participate in race car forums.
1. Use youtube to promote your site, upload some video and hire some video comment poster 2. Use banner advertising on high traffic racing/automotive related forum 3. Use adwords video PPC
YouTube works great for any kind of of vehicle videos such as cars and motorcycles. I do have to say that congratulations ad will turn a lot of people off right away though.
Thanks all for your feedback, some good ideas here. Hi sport302, not sure what you are referring to when you say 'congratulations ad'? Anybody know who I can hire that would do a good job promoting using some of the methods suggested. I would love to but am too busy promoting 3 other sites (listed in signature).
