Who has experience with "Automatic Matching" in Adwords?

Okay, great! We are selected to try out automatic matching and I have to admit that I am flattered that Google selected us to spend more money with them!!!

I've got a couple of questions...

Anyone out here tried Automatic Matching before?
Will our ads be triggered by "highly relevant keywords" or are the keywords completely bullshit?
What keyword will adwords pick when we use Dynamic Keyword Insertion?

    Thanks,
    Adriaan

From the feedback I have gathered, this is a tool that Google is using to spend 100% of everyone's budget each day. But I have used it on clients accounts who have been struggling for clicks and it has seemed to do the job and with no complaints on their side about the quality of their click thrus.

If you are are not getting enough people clicking on your ads throughout the day then I would experiment with it for 2-3 days and review the statistics and sales, otherwise stay away from it.

And for question 2. and 3.

    2) They aren't highly relevant keywords but will be somewhat relevant to your site and current keywords.

    3) Adwords will select their keywords or yours for the insertion tool depending on what search was made.

SDunroe, thank you very much for your quick reply! We are not struggling to get clicks in but we can always use some extra productive traffic on our sites. I don't expect the extra traffic to be justa s productive as my best performing traffic but I'm wondering if this is not just a waste of money. Reading your reply this probably isnt a waste of money.

I hope it works well for you and as I previously said, just check your stats and sales over a time period to see if it really benefits you. After all, we believe in Quality Clicks (and traffic) :p

We are always looking for extra Productive / Quality Clicks to our websites and if this is bringing in more Quality Clicks than i'm satisfied. I will check the google search query reporting closely the next couple of weeks and see if we can expand automatic matching to other campaigns as well.

Any others who have tried automatic matching? It would be very much appreciated if you could share your experiences with me :)

    Thx
    Adriaan

    Use the negative keywords!

Use a tool keyword research tool to determine what keywords to exclude.
