1. Pay for good quality backlinks.. 2. Convince people to subscribe to your blog, send emails out once a week. Why? 1. Pay for good quality backlinks and You won't waste your valuable time pasting backlinks in digitalpoint and every other forum which allows signatures.. 2. I make most of my income from the emails i send out. Alexa ranking, i've seen successful sites with higher than 3 million alexa ranking. Not sure if realistically it's that important.
naaa... Just update your blog frequently .. minimum one post per day... you will see it gradually increasing with every update.... Trust me!
U disagree with me??? ok... I'm not saying my methods are a way to increase alexa ranking.. I'm saying there are more important things than alexa ranking. But.. if you want to increase alexa ranking. Just install the alexa toolbar, and make your blog your homepage. Also install alexa toolbar on friends and families computers and once again, set your site on homepage. If you want to keep your old homepage, but have your blog come up as a second tab. heres an example of how to do that.. Lets say you want homepage to be google, and second tab to be myblog.com you would add this to home page link http://www.google.com/|http://www.myblog.com/ PS: people who say things like.. Do it this way, trust me... it's usually best not to trust them
If it is just to increase your alexa rank... what i said is more than sufficient... I have been blogging for nearly 2 years now and i think i know what alexa is.. Dont trust me !
lol telling someone to update there blog once a day is not a sufficient answer on how to increase alexa rank. Alexa rank is based on visitors who have installed alexa toolbar. For example.. My first online business made 10k (£) a year, but was ranked over 3 million in alexa rankings (my google page rank is 4/10). my target audience was the uk general public, who wouldn't know anything about alexa toolbar. Once i installed the alexa toolbar on my computer, and my friends and families computers, within a month my alexa ranking moved up to the 600,000 mark. Alexa ranking really doesn't mean anything in terms of how successful a site is. Infact, i would say it's a waste of time trying to move up alexa ranks in the first place. If the content you provide is catered towards webmasters, and not the general public. than you have more chance of moving up in alexa because it's mostly webmasters and computer savvy people who have the alexa toolbar installed. What's more important than alexa ranking is your google pagerank. If your pagerank is good, than you can usually make good income through banner advertising.
Yeah... That is right... I have got some of the worst non topical , non niche general blogs and i have managed to get an alexa rank < 4.5 lakhs . The alexa widget apparently helps and other than that i just update my blog very often. That is all about it.
