    I was born in France and I am a woman so I am going to pick a French woman.I pick Joan of Arc.She commanded the armed forces of an entire nation and drove the English out of France thereby ending the 100 years war.She managed to do all of this by the age of 17.She also demanded equality in an age when women were not considered the equals of men.She really was the first feminist in history,and for this I admire her.
    Who do you pick and why?

    I am born in India (Tamil Nadu) so i am going to pick Tamil poet Thiruvalluvar. Tiruvalluvar (First Century BCE) was a Tamil poet born in southern India. His date of birth may have been as early as 200 BCE or as late as 800 CE. His birth place is usually said to be Madras (now called Chennai). Thiruvalluvar wrote 1330 Thirukurals.Thirukkural is one of most revered ancient works in the Tamil. ThiruKural is considered as 'common creed', as it shows the way for human morals and betterment in life. The Kural has been translated into several languages.

    I visited Joan of Arc's 15th century stone house where she was born,it still stands today.
    @Five-0
    Nelson Mandela spent 27 years in jail fighting for the freedom of others.He is worthy to go down as one of the greatest men in history.

    I grew up in Orleans France "dans la provence de Lorraine tres pres de la maison de Joan D'Arc." I am a French girl and grew up very close to where Joan of Arc was born and raised.I visited her house several times as a child but never thought to bring a camera.But simply Google Joan of Arc and it's all there.
    I have touched her armour and battle flag,gave me goosebumps and I truly felt the power.

    I'd like to present William Wilberforce. An English MP whose work ended slavery within the British Empire. He was a fellow local of my city too! :)
