I am such a film buff and I have always wondered if there was an award at the oscars for the best director of all time...Martin Scorsese, Steven Spielberg, Francis Ford Coppola, David Fincher or even maybe James Cameron? I would be fascinated to find out what everyone thinks and what film you believe would sit at the top of their creative work. For me mine would have to be Scorsese and the work I would rate at the top either Raging Bull or a close second Taxi Driver. Look forward to your answers!!
Definitely NOT M Night Shyamalan - a one hit wonder director. On the other hand, director of a film get less credit compare to the actor. I doubt many people here could name their fav director.
I would have to go with Stanley Kubrick. Dr. Strangelove, 2001: A space Odyssey, Spartacus, A Clockwork Orange, Full Metal Jacket...
Well, I can't pick which of these greats is the greatest but they sure are all worthy of the title. Steven Spielberg Martin Scorsese Peter Jackson James Cameron
Steven Spielberg is by far the best of the list from the saving private ryan in 1998 one of the best war films ever made, To Men in Black.
