Who could get me indexed within a couple hours?

Sometime my site does stories on breaking news. The problem is Google often takes three days to index that new page.

I need a temporary inbound link that totally rocks and has the authority that Google requires to index my site within a couple hours. On the one hand, I don't need a full month of advertising (I might just need a several hours of advertising), but the site has to be of very high quality to pull this off.

What well-established, authoritative website could provide this link for me and what would it cost?

Thanks vagrant. I was not aware of Pingler. I just tried it, will report back if this page gets cached in google more rapidly.

    A bit more detail:
Google visits my sitemap every few hours. But for whatever reason, it will sometime cache a story very quickly, like within a few hours of publishing, but bypass other stories for several days before caching the page. It seems to like certain stories better, like a stroy i did on an open-source project.

Sounds like you need a better internal linking structure. Forget getting backlinks from external sites and use the strength of your site to index your newest pages. Otherwise you will need a magical link for each new story that breaks.

Sometimes there is a time lag between crawling and indexing. Dont worry too much about it.

I think directory sites get early good page ranks, because they linked with many sites, if they try to put high page rank links in their link directory site then there is more chance to get high page rank for their own site also

Use pinging services like that of 'ping-o-matic' or 'pingler' to inform SE's of the additions to your site and I am sure your new updates would get noticed and indexed.... fairly quickly and regularly! :)

Just about any Social Media site works well. What have you tried so far, though?

How often are you updating? If you update multiple times per day consistently Google will start to expect that.

I write a short blog entry daily and Google tends to index within 24 hours while my business partner often waits 1-2 weeks to be indexed because he only writes once a week or so.

RogerDodgr, the solution is pretty simple and straightforward: sign up for GoogleNews. If accepted, your news directory will be crawled every 2-5 minutes. My news are getting into Google index within 10 minutes.

GeorgeKuipers: That might be the answer I'm looking for. How do I sign apply for Google News? Any tips for getting accepted? I'll find it (after classes), but do you have a link handy?

MarkAse: I am updating every day (once, sometimes twice), but not on weekends. With that schedule I thought I would be re-indexed daily; but like I said, it is several days for most stories, but there are a few exceptions... Although googlebot is visiting my sitemap every few hours, it seems to be picking 'progressive' aka 'left-ish' stories for faster index, examples: an Aids story, and an 'open source' story.

RogerDodgr, it is really easy to find. The first result for keyword phrase: "how to join Google News".
If you are accepted, you will get really powerful. Think on using this news directory not only for getting news in Google cache, but getting ANYTHING YOU WANT in Google cache within an hour (by linking from directory pages).

PS. Some people do business on that...
